What is the maximum character length for sending SMS?

 

 

The maxmimum length of SMS is 160 characters.

 

The handling of SMS longer than 160 characters can be configured in the settings of the SMS Gateway.

 

This setting can be found under Configuration - SIM-Card. You can choose between Multipart and Split.

 

 

Multipart

Mode for sending text messages.   Select Multipart in order to send messages as a text message with more than 160 characters.   Select Split in order to divide longer messages into several text messages with a maximum of 160 characters each.
